REVIEW: Often, God does not act as quickly as we would like.
- READ: Psalm 62:5 “ Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.”
- DISCUSS: How have you grown from your seasons of waiting? In other words: how did God use a waiting period to develop your character?
- DISCUSS: Have you ever wanted something from God more than you wanted God himself? How does your relationship with God today compare to then?
REVIEW: Sometimes, our foolish choices have painful, long-lasting consequences.
- READ: 1 John 1:6-7 “So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.”
- DISCUSS: What fears or worries have historically kept you from being honest and open with other believers? If you feel free from those fears now, how did God help you begin living with greater honesty and vulnerability?
- DISCUSS: Is there anything you have been hiding or protecting that you want to “bring into the light” with your group?
ASK:
What else did you get from this week's sermon? What actions or next steps can you take to apply it to your life?
PRAY:
For the patience to wait on God, a deeper trust in his goodness, and the courage to live fully known.
