Jesus alone satisfies the soul. Many seek fulfillment elsewhere, but He offers living water. Where are you looking?
REVIEW: Jesus is Our Source of Living Water
- READ: John 4:10, 13-14 - "Jesus answered her, 'If you knew the gift of God and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.'... Jesus replied, 'Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.'"
- DISCUSS: What does Jesus’ offer of living water reveal about His identity and mission?
REVIEW: Living Water Restores
- READ: Isaiah 44:3 "For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your descendants."
- DISCUSS: How does Jesus' offer of living water connect to the prophecies in the Old Testament?
REVIEW: Living Water is Powerful
- READ: John 7:37-38 "On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, 'Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’"
- DISCUSS: Why do people seek fulfillment in things other than Jesus? What are some wells we drink from that leave us empty?
REVIEW: Living Water is Meant to Be Shared
- READ: John 4:27-30, 39 "The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, 'Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?' So the people came streaming from the village to see him... Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, 'He told me everything I ever did!'"
- DISCUSS: How does encountering Jesus change the woman’s priorities? How should our encounters with Jesus lead us to share Him with others?
ASK: What else did you get from this week's sermon? What actions or next steps can you take to apply it to your life?
PRAY:Father, we recognize that we often seek fulfillment in places that cannot satisfy. Help us to drink deeply from the living water You offer. Transform our hearts and renew our minds so that we may walk in deeper faith and surrender. Give us the courage to release our control and embrace the abundant life You offer. May our trust in You grow each day, shaping our thoughts, actions, and relationships. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
INVITATION TO RESPOND:
Take time this week to reflect on Jesus’ invitation. Ask yourself:
- Engage with God’s Word daily, allowing it to convict, transform, and shape you.
- Seek the Lord in prayer—speaking to Him and listening.
- Embrace silence and solitude to be still before God.
- Fast regularly, whether monthly or weekly, to deepen dependence on Him.
- Stop believing the lie that God can’t or doesn’t want to use you.
