Life’s Greatest Lesson: "We grow through what we go through." Christianity is not just knowing or doing the right thing—it’s a lifelong transformational journey with Jesus, and our struggles can become powerful catalysts for growth.

REVIEW: Jesus allows and sometimes leads us into the storm

  • READ: Mark 4:35 — "As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, 'Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.'”
  • DISCUSS: Have you ever faced a storm that you felt God allowed or even led you into? How does it change your perspective to know He was with you in it?

REVIEW: Jesus teaches us in the storm

  • READ: Mark 4:39-41 — "When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Silence! Be still!' Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm..." Hebrews 11:1 — "Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen."
  • DISCUSS: What has God taught you in seasons of difficulty that you might not have learned any other way?

REVIEW: Jesus leads us safely to the other side

  • READ: Romans 8:28 — "We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose."
  • DISCUSS: How have you seen God’s faithfulness carry you through a storm in your life?

  ASK:

What else did you get from this week's sermon? What actions or next steps can you take to apply it to your life?

PRAY:
Father, thank You that no storm is bigger than Your love, Your presence, or Your power. Thank You that You lead us into growth, meet us in the middle of our fears, and carry us safely to the other side. Help us trust You more deeply when life is hard, and help us see every storm as an opportunity to grow with You. We love You, and we trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

INVITATION TO RESPOND:
This week, take a step toward trusting Jesus in your current circumstances. Here are a few ways to respond:

  • Pause and reflect: Ask God what He wants to teach you in the middle of your storm.

  • Trust His leadership: Remember, even when you can't feel it, He is in the boat with you.

  • Lean on faith: Like the heroes of Hebrews 11, grow your faith by trusting God even when you can't yet see the outcome.

  • Remember past faithfulness: Take time to write down storms God has already brought you through.

Jesus will never waste your pain—He will grow you through it. Will you trust Him in the storm?
