Little Ones Director (Definition Church)

This position will work alongside the current director in preparation for the daycare operating in multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee all aspects of the daycare curriculum and activities.
  • Ensure the daycare meets all state and local licensing requirements and maintains compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program, making improvements as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for children and staff.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise daycare staff, including teachers and support personnel.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, provide professional development opportunities, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.

Child Care and Education:

  • Ensure the physical, emotional, and educational needs of children are met.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and spiritual growth.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.

Administrative Duties:

  • Prepare and manage the daycare budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, enrollment, staff credentials, and other essential
    documentation.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures in line with church guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Community Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the daycare and church leadership.
  • Promote the daycare program within the church and the local community.
  • Organize and participate in church events, fostering a strong connection between the daycare and the church congregation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Knowledge of state and local regulations for childcare centers.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Active and transformative relationship with Jesus and commitment to the mission and values of Definition Church.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
