Solomon’s life reveals that wisdom, while valuable, does not guarantee fulfillment or freedom without a deep commitment to God. Though he achieved great success, Solomon’s search for happiness showed that true purpose is found only in surrender to God’s ways. His story also highlights the power of love—meant to be celebrated, cultivated, and shared—as a reflection of God’s love for us.

REVIEW: A Heart Aligned with Wisdom

  • READ: Proverbs 1:7 – “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
  • DISCUSS: Solomon began his reign asking God for wisdom (1 Kings 3:1-14). Why do you think a heart open to God’s wisdom is important for making life decisions?

REVIEW: The Pursuit of True Fulfillment

  • READ: Ecclesiastes 1:14 – “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”
  • DISCUSS: Solomon explored wisdom, pleasure, wealth, and work in his search for meaning. What can we learn from his search, and where do you think true happiness comes from?

REVIEW: Unity Through Devoted Love

  • READ: Song of Songs 8:6 – “Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death.”
  • DISCUSS: What does it mean for love to be a “seal”? How can love lead to deeper unity in friendships, marriage, and with God?

REVIEW: The Transforming Power of Divine Love

  • READ: 1 John 4:11 “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
  • DISCUSS: God’s love is transformational, as seen throughout Scripture. How does knowing God’s love inspire us to love others better, and how might it impact our lives when we truly receive it?

What else did you get from this week's sermon? What actions or next steps can you take to apply it to your life?

  PRAY:

"Lord, we seek Your wisdom to lead with humility, truth, and love. Just as Solomon desired understanding, help us walk in Your ways and find true fulfillment in You. Strengthen our relationships, grounded in love and unity, and let us reflect Your grace and compassion to those we lead. Thank You for Your unfailing love, and may it inspire us to love others well. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
