Key Passage: John 18:1-27

Jesus models how we can process our pain and find healing.

REVIEW: We must forgive.

  • READ: Ephesians 4:32 “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”
  • ‭‭DISCUSS: Are you holding feelings of frustration, anger, hurt, or offense toward anyone right now? What is keeping you from forgiveness toward them?
  • DISCUSS: How would you describe the difference between forgiveness toward someone and reconciliation with someone?

REVIEW: We can choose to learn and grow.

  • READ: 1 Peter 5:6-7, 11 “So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
  • ‭‭DISCUSS: Pastor Allen’s message highlighted humility, gratitude, mercy, love, and trust as areas in which we can learn and grow. Which area do you feel that you have the most room to grow in right now? What opportunities do you have to take a step toward that particular characteristic?

  ASK:

  PRAY:

Pray for the courage and faith to forgive those who have hurt us, and to invite God’s development and transformation through our hardships.
