There are three things that we need to remember in order to wait well.
REVIEW: God will develop me.
- READ: Proverbs 20:21 “An inheritance obtained too early in life is not a blessing in the end.”
- DISCUSS: How carefully do you watch your emotions when you’re under pressure?
- DISCUSS: What are some of the ways God is developing you right now?
REVIEW: God will defend me.
- READ: Psalm 62:1-2 “I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.”
- DISCUSS: When you’re under pressure, do you tend to become more withdrawn or more aggressive?
- DISCUSS: What are some of the ways you practice worship and surrender?
REVIEW: God will direct me.
- READ: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
- DISCUSS: What are some situations that have been the hardest for you to trust God’s plan and timing?
- DISCUSS: How do you use the Bible to keep yourself anchored in truth?
ASK:
What else did you get out of the sermon this week? What actions or next steps can you do to start applying it to your life?
PRAY:
Pray for the courage to surrender and trust in God’s work, God’s power, and God’s plan.
