Love is the most powerful motivator!
REVIEW: There is a direct correlation between love and our behavior.
- READ: John 14:23 “Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
- DISCUSS: How do you respond when you don’t feel loved?
REVIEW: Our ability to give love comes from our ability to receive God’s love.
- READ: 1 John 4:7–10 “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”
- DISCUSS: What makes it difficult to receive God’s love and/or love from others? What makes it difficult to give love?
REVIEW: Love is not a feeling. It is a way of relating.
- READ: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
