Evangelism is not something we do for God; evangelism is something we do with God.
REVIEW: God is always working to draw people to himself.
- Read: John 6:44 “For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up.”
- Discuss: Do you typically feel anxiety or pressure when sharing your faith? How does knowing that “God is always at work” bring you peace and courage?
Review: God uses people to bring others to Jesus.
- Read: 2 Corinthians 5:20 “So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, ‘Come back to God!’”
- Discuss: How have you experienced God working through you to bring someone else closer to him? If you can’t think of an example, who can you plan to encourage with God’s truth and your testimony?
Review: God is continually inviting you into the work of evangelism
- Read: Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
- Discuss: When was the last time you talked with an unbeliever about Jesus? How can you create margin for more opportunities to do so?
Ask:
What else did you get out of the sermon this week? What actions or next steps can you do to start applying it to your life?
Pray:
For greater faith in God’s desire to save people, a stronger desire to share faith with others, and for opportunities to do so soon.
